Barb Bochman, age 78, of Yankton, South Dakota, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, September 25, 2018.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM, on Monday, October 1, 2018 at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton. Private family inurnment will be held at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Yankton with Reverend Paige Besse-Rankin officiating.
Honorary pallbearers are her six grandchildren.
Barbara Ann Bochman was born November 29, 1939 in Avon, South Dakota to Earl and Lois (Heil) Jurrens. She grew up in Avon and graduated from Avon High School. Barb then attended the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree. She married Terry Bochman on August 23, 1959 in Avon. After their marriage, they lived in Fort Polk, LA, Longview, TX and Sioux City, IA, before settling in Yankton in 1964. Barb taught shorthand, typing and vocational office practice at Yankton High School until 1979. She then worked as an accountant for the family business, Consolidated Business Products, for over 30 years. Barb enjoyed reading, playing the piano and camping with her family. Above all, she loved attending her grandchildren’s events and activities and treasured the annual trip with them to watch the Kansas City Chiefs play football.
Barb is survived by two children: Jeff (Jane) Bochman of Yankton and Laurie (Warren) Brenner of Yankton; six grandchildren: Nick, Justin and Kylie Bochman, Jarrett (Cassy), Travis and Derek Brenner; two great grandchildren, Amber and Arlo Brenner; two brothers, Keith (Shirley) Jurrens of Shelby, NE and Duane (Phyllis) Jurrens of Lincoln, NE; two sisters, Mary (Bob) Lukkes of Weslaco, Texas and Kay (Lyle) Johnson of Salem, SD; and many nieces and nephews.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Terry Bochman on November 20, 2014.
