Audrey M. Misar, age 75, of Yankton, South Dakota, died Monday, March 5, 2018, at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton.
A memorial service will be 2:00 PM on Friday, March 9, 2018 at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton, South Dakota with Reverend Jeff Otterman officiating. Burial will be in the Meldal Cemetery near Centerpoint, South Dakota at a later date. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home.
Audrey M. Misar was born December 10, 1942, in Yankton, South Dakota to A.H. and Dorothy (Richters) Meng. She grew up on a farm near Irene, South Dakota, attended country school, and graduated from Irene High School in 1960. She then began her 30 year career at the Human Services Center in Yankton. She married Elmer Misar on April 20, 1985, in Yankton, South Dakota. After Audrey’s retirement she loved working part time at Gurney Seed and Nursery.
She loved gardening, working with Elmer at the Farmer’s Market, quilting, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, bowling, traveling, and her animals. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Yankton. Audrey was a very caring and quiet person who loved spending time with her family and visiting with friends.
Survivors include her husband, Elmer Misar of Yankton; daughter, Debra (Rich) Dant of Freeman, South Dakota; four grandchildren: Joy (Eric) Woehl of Menno, South Dakota; Stephen (Tiffany) Stuelpnagel of Bridgewater, South Dakota; Brandon Dant of Freeman; and Preston Dant of Freeman; two step-grandchildren: Ricky (Vicki) Dant of Huron, South Dakota; and Jacob Dant of Mitchell, South Dakota; nine great grandchildren with one on the way; brother, Lloyd (Shirley) Meng of Yankton and seven nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Glen Irwin and sister, Betty Frahm.
