Allen "Joe" Barnes

Allen “Joe” Barnes age 67 of rural Coleridge, Nebraska died unexpectantly at his residence on Monday, March 11, 2024.

 No funeral services are being planned at this time.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington, Nebraska.

 Allen Joseph was born on September 30, 1956 in Yankton, SD to Roger W. and Darlene A. (Howard) Barnes.  Joe grew up in Sioux Falls, SD and graduated from the Job Corp. in Montana with a GED.   He was in the United States Army for four years and was honorably discharged in July of 1983.  Joe drove a truck for over 20 years and his travels would take him from coast to coast. He married Sherrie Lee Jorgensen on October 21, 1983.   Allen Joe and Sherrie lived in Irene, SD for 15 years before moving to Coleridge, NE in March of 2021.

 Joe loved to do model railroading, jet skiing, fishing, and camping with his family.

 Joe is survived by his wife Sherrie of 40 years of Coleridge; five children Krista Barnes of Sioux Falls, SD, James Barnes of Sioux Falls, SD, Cassandra Zurcher of Irene, SD, Nina Barnes of Coleridge, Terrance Barnes of Coleridge; two sisters Tamera Barnes of Sioux Falls, SD, Tricia Smith of Humbolt, SD.

 He was preceded in death by his parents Roger and Darlene Barnes; two brothers Steven and Randy Barnes.
