Alan Ray Kaiser

Alan Ray Kaiser, age 63, of Yankton, South Dakota, died Saturday, December 8, 2018, at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton. A memorial service will be 2:00 PM on Friday, December 14, 2018, at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton, South Dakota, with Reverend Kwen Sanderson officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Bethlehem Cemetery in rural Menno, South Dakota. A gathering of friends and family will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, December 13, 2018, at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home with a prayer service and video tribute at 7:00 PM. Alan Ray Kaiser was born February 3, 1955, in Yankton, South Dakota to Elmer and Bertha (Bratberg) Kaiser. He grew up and attended school in Yankton and began working at Yankton Auto Supply. He married Nancy Bitterman on October 5, 1972 and together had two daughters: Angel and Gail. Alan then began working at Alumax, which he continued for 10 years. He became a handyman and worked various jobs in Yankton and could do anything. He really enjoyed selling fireworks at Liberty Fireworks in Yankton. Alan loved spending time with his fiancé, Kathy Moore, who he asked to be his wife on Christmas 2015. He was a very hardworking and happy man who was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, canning, working in his yard, and visiting with his friends. Alan had a loving heart and trained his wild dog, Sam, and loved taking him around and showing him off. He especially loved spending time with his family and grandchildren and he was truly a friend to all. Survivors include his two daughters: Angel (Philip) Benson and Gail (Ryan) Bakke both of Yankton, South Dakota; eight grandchildren: Angel’s children: Zachary, Colby, and Taten and Gail’s children: Brooke, Alexa, Kacie, Maggie and Henry; his mother, Bertha Kaiser of Yankton; fiancé, Kathy Moore of Yankton; one great grandchild on the way; four sisters: Lynette (Don) Simonsen of Rapid City, South Dakota; Donna Kaiser of Yankton; Barbara (Michael) Steinberg of Yankton; and Kathy (Kelly) Jensen of Yankton; sister-in-law, Nancy Frederick of Worland, Wyoming; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
