Woodrow Weidner age 76 of Crofton, Nebraska died on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at his residence. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton, SD with the Rev. Ray Lail officiating. Burial will be held at the Fairview Cemetery in Follett, Texas at a later date. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home. Woodrow Weidner was born on April 5, 1943 in Shattuck, Oklahoma to Otto and Frieda (Borth) Weidner. He was raised on the family farm near Follett, in Lipscomb County, Texas. He attended school in Follett before attending Electronic School in Denver, Colorado. After completing his tech courses, Woodrow enrolled in West Texas State University. While attending the university, he was drafted into the U.S. Navy, serving his tour of duty on the coasts of Vietnam, Japan, and the Philippines. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to Amarillo, Texas where he met and married his wife of 52 years, Reva Ann Davis. To this union two daughters were born, Amy and Jennifer. Woodrow was a man with many interests and abilities. He worked as a cameraman/projectionist for three television stations in Amarillo during college. He was an inspector for the Atomic Energy Commission, a Civil Engineer with Santa Fe Railroad before returning to education to study for the ministry. Woodrow pastored churches in Texas, Nebraska, and in Yankton, SD at Assembly of God Church from 1983-1995. He loved God and people with sincere loyalty. He had travelled to many places but his heart was always on the family farm. Woodrow loved his family unconditionally and treasured his wife Reva, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Woodrow is survived by his wife Reva of Crofton, NE; two daughters Amy (Raul) Segura of Kansas City, MO, Jennifer (Darrell) Wubben of Crofton; five grandchildren Cassie Kellen of Sioux City, IA, Rachel (Joel) Barrett of Farwell, TX, Jessica (Mathew) Guenther of Lincoln, NE, Jazmin (Henry) Goeden of McLean, NE, Joshua Wubben of Crofton; great grandchildren Makenna Kellen, Ireland Barrett, and Maverick Goeden; brother Garth (Lavada) Weidner and his family of Follett, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and grandson Austin Wubben.
