Bernadette "Bernie" Wollman was born October 1, 1935, in Yankton, South Dakota, to Bernard and Marcella (Borszich) Klimisch. She grew up on the family farm outside of Utica, South Dakota. She attended Klimisch School and graduated from Mount Marty High School in 1953. She married Rudy Wollman in 1959 at Sigel Catholic Church in rural Utica. After their marriage they moved to Yankton where Bernadette started working as a Bookkeeper at Freeman Manufacturing for a few years and then went to work for Morgan Manufacturing, where she continued to work for over 30 years. She retired from Morgan Manufacturing and for the last five years has been working at Hy-Vee in Yankton.

Bernadette was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church where she was always willing to volunteer. She enjoyed word search books, crocheting, playing solitaire, and chasing her dog, Buster. She was a very hard working woman who loved her family above all else.

Survivors include her four sons: David Wollman Sr. of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Robert Wollman of Yankton; Richard (Sandra) Wollman of Jacksonville, Florida; and Todd Wollman of Yankton; seven grandchildren: David Jr., Danielle, Marissa, Christopher, Kailey, Angelina, and Peter; two great grandchildren: Shadow and Zane; two sisters: Frances Shutt of Utica, South Dakota and Ruth Chapman of Mount Pleasant, Michigan; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rudy on September 6, 1993; and sister, Helen Klimisch.

Sorry to hear your Mom passed away. I have good memories of your parents and the many scouting activities they coordinated. We were lucky to have them as leaders of our troop. I regret I will be out of town next week and am unable to attend her funeral mass. Best wishes to you all!

I wondered why I hadn't seen her around town here in Yankton. We worked together at Hy Vee in the diningroom. She'll be surely missed. We became fast friends. If any family member would like a copy of a poem I wrote in 2004 for Family & Friends that has lost a loved one please let me know by my Email or phone. 605-760-2478
