Joshua David Wipf, age 28, of Yankton, South Dakota died on Friday, May 26, 2017 as a result of a car accident near Yankton.

Funeral services are 10:30 AM, on Friday, June 2, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Yankton with Reverend David Wildermuth and Reverend Jeff Otterman officiating. Burial will be at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Yankton. Visitation is from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 1 at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton with a prayer service at 7:00 PM.

Pallbearers are Jordan Slate, Sam Lunn, Sean Durham, Tony Pleiss, Ryan Schaefer, Kyle Marquardt, Pete Kloski, and Corey Meng. Honorary pallbearers are his nieces and nephews.

Josh was born October 10, 1988 in Yankton, South Dakota to Joseph Sr. and Connie (Ketter) Wipf. He grew up in Yankton, graduating from Yankton High School in 2007. While attending high school, Josh worked at the Fryn' Pan Restaurant. After graduation, he worked at Shur-Co, Applied Engineering, PMC and was currently employed at Ehresmann Engineering. He was a huge Carolina Panthers fan and loved playing all kinds of sports including soccer, softball, basketball, golf and Frisbee golf. He won several golf tournaments in Yankton and Crofton including the 2016 Fox Run Pro-Am with his brother, Joe Jr, friend, Adam Walsh and team caddie, Jordan Slate. Josh was also the individual low net golfer of that tournament. Josh enjoyed playing video games and loved hanging out and playing with his nieces and nephews. He helped coach Aubrie's soccer team and enjoyed watching them in their various activities. He spent two years as a Sunday School Room Helper for 4 and 5 year old children. Josh had an easy-going personality who could make anyone laugh.

Josh will be forever missed by his parents, Joe Sr. and Connie Wipf of Yankton; two sisters, Kristina (Brandon) Lloyd of Yankton and Katie Wipf (Mitchell Nehlich) of Aberdeen, SD; brother, Joe Jr. (Nickie) Wipf of Yankton; four nieces and nephews: Aubrie and Evan Lloyd, Jasper Nehlich, and Midori Wipf; grandmother, Betty Ketter of Yankton; girlfriend, Christina Chapman and her daughter, Aliya; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Josh was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Joe Ketter Jr.; paternal grandparents, Hank, Elizabeth and Kate Wipf; aunt, Bonnie Walter; and great grandmother, Oda Schotanus.
