Donovan B. Wielbelhaus, age 83 of Fordyce, Nebraska, died on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the Hartington Care and Rehabilitation Center in Hartington, NE.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fordyce, Nebraska with Rev. Jim Keiter officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery, Fordyce with military honors by the Hartington VFW Post 5283 and the American Legion Riders. . Visitation will be on Tuesday, at church, from 5-8:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at church one hour prior to services. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington.

Pallbearers will be Josh Wiebelhaus, Seth Wiebelhaus, Joe Wiebelhaus, Chad Wiebelhaus, Clint Wiebelhaus, and Zachary Wilson.

Donovan Bernard Wiebelhaus was born on December 3, 1933 in Fordyce, Nebraska to Albert and Katherine (Juergens) Wiebelhaus. He grew up in Fordyce and attended school there until the 10th grade. He attended the 11th and 12th grades at Sioux City Heelan, graduating in 1951. While attending Heelan, Donovan boarded with a private family in Sioux City. Donovan attended the University of South Dakota for two years before he was drafted into the Army, serving in Germany from 1956-1958. Upon his return from the Army, he has farmed ever since.

Donovan was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Fordyce, the Hartington AMVETS, and the Catholic Order of Foresters.

He is survived by his brother Alburn and wife Vivian Wiebelhaus of Fordyce; a sister Phyllis Kneifl of Palmdale, CA; and many nieces and nephews.

Donovan was preceded in death by his parents Albert & Katherine Wiebelhaus, and brother Charles.
