Charles Ernest Vejvoda, age 59 of Crofton, Nebraska, died on Monday, February 13, 2017 at his residence.

A visitation, with the family present, will be held at the Wintz Funeral Home in Crofton on Sunday, February 19, 2017 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. No other services are being planned.

Charles was born on January 19, 1958 in Hinsdale, Illinois to Donald Ernest and Carol Yvonne (DeBarge) Vejvoda. At the age of 5 his family moved to Cupertino, California. He grew up in the Saratoga, California area and served in the National Guard. Charles lived in Washington and California where he worked at a variety of jobs. He married Linda Shaughnessy Dodds on July 9, 1999 in Reno, Nevada. In 1997 Charles moved to San Jose and worked for Therma and then in 2000 began working for ATT as a DSL Technician. He was proud to be a 3rd generation employee of the Bell system. He retired in 2011 because of health reasons and moved to Crofton in 2013.

Charles loved to fish and was a great story teller using his vivid imagination. He was a very kind man who made friends easily and was loved by many.

Charles is survived by his wife, Linda Vejvoda of Crofton; a daughter, Regina and Jason McCauley of Beaver Creek, Ohio; his mother, Carol Castro of San Jose, CA; his father, Donald Vejvoda of Santa Clara, CA; a stepdaughter, Melissa Humphrey-Peterson and her husband Jason of Berry Creek, CA; 8 grandchildren and a great granddaughter, a brother, James and Colleen Vejvoda of San Jose, CA; 4 step sisters, Linda and Jerry Graham, Debbie Ferris and Tony Dorrell all of San Jose, CA; and Patricia and Rick Friend of Modesto, CA; and a brother-in-law, Franklin Dodds of Crofton.

He was preceded in death by his step father, Ross Castro.
