Harold Elmer Tramp, age 80 of Crofton, Nebraska, died on Friday, October 23, 2015 at his residence.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Crofton with Rev. Timothy Lange officiating. Burial will be in the St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Crofton with military honors provided by the Crofton American Legion Post 128 and the Legion Riders. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm at the church. Visitation will begin one hour prior to services on Thursday at the church. The Wintz Funeral Home in Crofton is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be his 7 grandsons: Ryan Tramp, Scott Varilek, Brandon Varilek, Alex Perlinger, Cole Perlinger, Colton Foxhoven and Jace Foxhoven.
Honorary Pallbearers will be his 7 granddaughters: Erin Filips, Laura Tramp, Jenna Varilek, Jordan Perlinger, Courtney Clements, Kelsey Foxhoven and Mackenzie Foxhoven.
Harold was born on December 12, 1934 at Crofton to Herman F. and Alma M. (Bartz) Tramp. He graduated from Crofton High School in 1952 and then served in the U.S. Army from February 8, 1955 to February 1, 1957 serving 17 months in Germany. Harold married Marilyn Sorensen on June 9, 1959 at Crofton. They made their home northeast of Crofton where together they worked their farm, raised their children, and currently live. Harold loved his farm, John Deere green, and caring for his cattle. Throughout his farming career, he spent many hours shelling corn for numerous farmers. He liked playing cards, bowling, and traveling with Marilyn. He was an avid baseball fan and especially liked The Minnesota Twins. Harold enjoyed playing games and ball with his grandkids and attending many of their activities. He also loved seeing and holding his great grandchildren. His eyes lit up whenever they were around. Harold never judged people and was known by all for his kindness and patience. Harold was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and was a former parish council member. He also was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters.
Harold is survived by his wife Marilyn of Crofton, 4 children and their spouses, Bob and Robyn Tramp of Crofton; Diane and Dennis Varilek of Clark, SD; Renee and Joe Perlinger of Clive, Iowa; Nancy and Dale Foxhoven of Crofton; 14 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 4 brothers, Charles and Geralda Tramp of Crofton; Quinten and Imogene Tramp of Crofton; Wilfred and Donna Tramp of Crofton; Norman and Carol Tramp of Wynot, NE; and a sister, Marcelene and Arven Kathol of Hartington, NE; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 great grandchildren, Kinley and Riley Filips, an infant brother, a sister and brother-in-law, Rosemary and Elmer Jansen.

The Tramps were such good neighbors when I was growing up. I remember Harold as a gentle man with a smile on his face. My prayers and sympathy to all of you.
