David A. Stanga, age 49, of Yankton, South Dakota, died unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, July 19, 2015 in Yankton.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM on Friday, July 24, 2015, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Yankton with Reverend David Gunderson officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Visitation is from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton with a prayer service at 7:00 PM.

Pallbearers are Dan Stanga, Dick Stanga, Aaron Stanga, and Ron Bohlman.

David A. Stanga was born December 22, 1965 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to Richard and Judy (Bohlman) Stanga Sr. He grew up and attended school in Sioux Falls, graduating from Washington High School in 1984. He began working for Hy-Vee while he was in high school and continued to work there for 33 years. He married Sarah (Kindig) Anderson in June of 1997 in Sioux Falls and to this union two children were born: Riley and Isaiah. Dave was promoted to Kitchen/Catering Manager at Hy-Vee and they later moved to Yankton, South Dakota where Dave ran the kitchen for many years. He married Becky Souchek in October of 2010 in Yankton.

Dave enjoyed golfing, fishing, pheasant hunting, target shooting, sprint car racing and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Tennessee Titans fan. He had a great sense of humor and loved his job, but what he really loved most of all were his boys.

Survivors include his two sons: Riley and Isaiah Stanga of Yankton; mother, Judy (Larry) Eisenbraun of Sioux Falls; two brothers: Dick (Dawn) Stanga of Sioux Falls and Dan (Roxie) Stanga of Tea, South Dakota. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Sr. and grandparents.
