Jerry Lou Row was born April 27, 1936, in Mellette, South Dakota, to Harry and Alzada (Bymers) Hixon. She grew up and attended school in the Mellette area, graduating in 1954. She married Charles "Okie" Row on June 2, 1956 in Aberdeen, South Dakota. They lived in Aberdeen and Jerry worked as a bookkeeper for Northern Wholesale until they moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota in 1977. Jerry worked for Sioux Falls Wholesale which later became Johnson Brothers of South Dakota. They moved to Brandon, South Dakota in 1979 and Jerry continued to work as a bookkeeper at Johnson Brothers for over 30 years retiring in 2002. They then moved to Yankton, South Dakota and Jerry began volunteering as a senior companion.

Jerry was a very hard worker who enjoyed spending time with her family. She especially loved her granddaughter Brooke and loved spending time with her, painting rocks, cooking and taking her to school. Jerry and Brooke were two peas in a pod and Brooke was always her number one priority.

Survivors include her daughter, Kim (Mark) Loecker of Yankton; granddaughter, Brooke Loecker (Colton Frohreich) of Yankton; brother, Harry (Marian) Hixon of Florida; four sisters: Dorothy Nielson of Yankton; Patricia Dobberpuhl of Aberdeen; Bonnie Marlow of Redfield, South Dakota; and Vickie Hixon of Sioux Falls; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; four sisters: Faye Weinries, Ruth Burr, Irene Boylan, and Opal Wolff; and two brothers William and Robert Hixon.
