Judy D. Reeves age 67 of Hartington, Nebraska died on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at the Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, SD

Memorial Services will be on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington with the Rev. Amanda Jertson officiating. Burial of her ashes will be at the Randolph Cemetery. Family will gather at the Wintz Funeral Home on Saturday one hour prior to services.

Judy Delone Reeves was born on January 3, 1947 in Boise, Idaho to Thomas and Etta (Hickey) McDonald. She grew up in Randolph, NE and pursued a college education at Northeast Community College in Norfolk, NE. She worked for the State Mental Hospital while in Norfolk. Judy married James M. Reeves on June 18, 1987 in Randolph, Nebraska. They moved to Belton, Texas on July 4th, 1987. James died on January 11, 1999 at the age of 59. Judy then moved to Hartington in 2011.

Judy was an avid reader and liked gardening and canning. She was an extremely talented cook and also a guidance counselor for her children. Judy's children always knew they could share their concerns with her and not be judged. She accepted all of them and gave her advice lovingly.

Judy is survived by six children and their spouses, Todd Doerr and fiancÚ Amy Schmidt of Yankton, SD, Scott and Coral Doerr of Tulsa, OK, Darla Barba of Forney, TX, Jodi and fiancÚ Kevin Adams of Yankton, SD, Justin Potter of Austin, TX, Eric Reeves of Corinth, TX; 15 grandchildren Hayden Reeves, Sabrina O'con, Jacob Barba, Elaina Barba, Michelle Hatcher, Emerald Potter, Treasure Ann Logan, Samantha Jo Potter Pruitt, Edward Veliz, Christian Veliz, Gabriella Veliz, Jessica Doerr, Daniel Doerr, Shane Doerr, Shawn Doerr; one sister Shirley and husband Andy Anderson of Hartington, NE; brother Bill and wife Paula McDonald of Bloomfield, NE.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Tommy McDonald, two sisters Betty Wichman, and Neva Lovejoy.
