LaVina L. "Bunny" Prue, age 66, of Yankton, South Dakota, died Saturday, March 28, 2015 at her residence.

Memorial services are 1:00 PM, on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at the Community Center in Santee, Nebraska with burial in the L'eau Qui Court Cemetery in Niobrara, Nebraska. Wintz & Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Yankton is assisting with arrangements.

LaVina was born December 21, 1948 in Winnebago, Nebraska to William and Marie Clara (Moose) Trudell. She attended high school in South Sioux City, Nebraska and then started working at Iowa Beef in Dakota City, Nebraska. LaVina worked there for many years until she moved to Santee, Nebraska in 1985. She obtained her GED and then graduated from Nebraska Indian Community College in Santee and worked as a Community Health Representative. On July 1, 1994, LaVina married Mathew Prue. They moved to Victor, Montana where she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant until she retired to Yankton in 1998. LaVina enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved taking care of her grandchildren.

LaVina is survived by her husband, Mathew Prue of Yankton; four children: Reggie Trudell (Glenda Neal) of Sioux City, IA, Ronnie Trudell of Sioux City, Crystal (Nenecio) Lopez of Danbury, IA and Athena (Cesar) Gutierrez of Sioux City; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; four brothers and sisters: Ann (Ben) Roberts of Lemoore, CA, Kenneth Trudell of Correctionville, IA, Raberta Babcock of Bloomfield, NE and Anthony Trudell of Australia; and many nieces and nephews.

LaVina was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers and sisters: Phyllis Trudell, Mary Louise Trudell, Lucille Ann Trudell and Ralph Simmons; and two sisters-in-law, Leona Laferriere and Josephine Trudell.

Mat and family- I am so sorry for your loss. Bunny was one of the nicest sweetest ladies I have known. I loved stopping by the apartment for a quick visit. She will be missed by all. What a gently soul.
