Jayne Donna Olson, age 66, of Yankton, South Dakota died Monday, March 31, 2014 at her residence.

Funeral services are 11:00 AM, on Friday, April 4, 2014 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Yankton with Reverend Steve Weispfennig officiating. Visitation is from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, on Thursday, April 3 at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Visitation resumes one hour prior to the funeral at the church.

Jayne was born May 20, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Melvin and Donna (Leake) Furby. A year after she was born, the family moved to Albion, Nebraska where they farmed and raised Quarter Horses, Polled Hereford Cattle, Hampshire Hogs and chickens. Jayne attended Boone School District #4 and then graduated from Albion High School. She worked as a Registered Nurse in Albion before moving to Kohles Acres in rural, Crofton, Nebraska. On April 24, 1987, Jayne married Harold "Ole" Olson. After their marriage, they lived in Yankton and Jayne worked at Knutson Western Store, then Ability Building Services and finally at the Human Services Center, retiring in the late 1990s. Harold and Jayne enjoyed riding motorcycles and belonged to a motorcycle club. She also enjoyed sewing but above all, she loved the Lord and was a faithful member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Jayne was a loving person who will be deeply missed.

Jayne is survived by her husband, Harold "Ole" Olson of Yankton; son, A.J. Olson of Yankton; three step-children: Lori (Jay) Olson, James Olson and Kerri Olson, all of Yankton; two step-grandchildren, Collin Olson and Maddy Nooney; mother, Donna Furby of Albion, NE; three sisters, Lynda (Roy) Mangus of Humphrey, NE, Sandy (Ralph) Schilousky of Cheyenne, WY and Kathy (Rick) Freckleton of Pocatella, ID; and many nieces and nephews.

Jayne was preceded in death by her father; son, James "Jimmy" Furby and two step-grandchildren, Cody and Kasey.

My prayers are with you all at this time. Jayne was a very very special person to me. We had some GREAT times when we worked together. Even after we were done there we still stayed in touch a phone call , or I would stop by or a christmas card. She has a special place in my heart. I will miss her. She was a Awesome person inside and out. Cherish the memories hold them close to your heart. Share the stories as she would want you too, She always had GREAT stories that would make laugh tell I had tears in my eyes, espically the stories about her growing up with her siblings. She will be miss.
