Austin Curtis Olivier, age 27, of Yankton, South Dakota, died Monday, June 30, 2014 as a result of a motor vehicle accident west of Yankton.

Funeral services are 2:00 PM, on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton with Reverend David Gunderson officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Yankton. Visitation with the family present is from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, on Wednesday, July 2 at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the funeral services.

Pallbearers are Nick Kellen, Joey Pleiss, Jason Orr, Taco Portillo, Josh Mueller and Joe Walsh.

Austin was born July 11, 1986 to Curtis and Connie (Nelson) Olivier, 38 minutes before his brother, something he frequently liked to remind him of. He graduated from Yankton High School in 2005 and was part owner of Dahlin Drywall with his father and brother. Austin was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed walleye fishing, hunting, camping most of the summer and not wearing a shirt from May to September. Austin was also a Steelers fan and spent Sundays watching football with his friends and family. He was always smiling and the life of the party. He would be the first one there if you needed something, bushy beard and all. Austin kept everyone laughing with his spontaneous one liners and witty comments. That was our Austin. To know him is to love him. Family and friends were a high priority for him and he never went anywhere alone, not even to buy groceries.

Austin is survived by his parents, Curt and Connie Olivier; brother, Justin (Ashley) Olivier; sister, Ashley Olivier and special niece, Jenilea, all of Yankton; special friend, Kayla of Parkston, SD; and his beloved dog, Dewey. He was also loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He will be missed by all.

Austin was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Mert Nelson; paternal grandparents; Chester and Ruby Olivier; and special grandparents, Arnold and Laura Nelson.

Messages will be reviewed and posted within 1 business day.
