Phyllis Marie Neuhalfen, age 83 of Norfolk, Nebraska, formerly of Hartington, Nebraska, died on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at the St. Joseph Rehabilitation and Care Center in Norfolk.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 10:30 am at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington with Rev. Owen Korte and Rev. David Korth officiating. Burial will be in the St. Michael's Cemetery in Hartington. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm at the church. Visitation will begin one hour prior to services on Friday at the church.

Pallbearers will be Scott Neuhalfen, Ryan Miller, Jerrod Neuhalfen, Ethan Neuhalfen, Kassidy Neuhalfen and Mike Neuhalfen.

Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

Phyllis was born on October 2, 1933 at Hartington to Francis and Irene Marie (Asbra) McCoy. She grew up in Hartington and graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1951. She married Vernon Neuhalfen on August 25, 1952 in Hartington. They made their home in San Diego, California until returning to Hartington in 1956. Phyllis raised her family and worked with her husband in the New York Life Insurance Agency in Hartington. She moved to Norfolk in 2000.

Phyllis was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington until moving to Norfolk where she joined the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was a member of the Christian Mothers, Catholic Daughters of America, had a perpetual hour of adoration at Holy Trinity and was a former 4H leader. Phyllis enjoyed golf and bowling but most of all she loved being with her family and following all of her grandchildren's activities.

Phyllis is survived by 12 children, Jan and Mike Miller of Jewel, IA; Dr. Elizabeth "Beth" Neuhalfen of Eatonville, WA; Bob and Maggie Neuhalfen of Ogallala, NE; Don and Kim Neuhalfen of Sioux Falls, SD; Jeff and Cathy Neuhalfen of Lavonia, MI; Ken Neuhalfen and special friend Danita Owens of Laurel, NE; Phil and Kami Neuhalfen of Pierce, NE; Tom and Becky Neuhalfen of Norfolk, NE; Mary and Rod Colfack of Norfolk, NE; Paulette Theisen of Omaha, NE; John and Jolene Neuhalfen of Kieler, WI; Pat and Julie Neuhalfen of Glenwood, IA; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Neuhalfen of Arlington, NE, 32 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and a brother, Tim and Irene McCoy of Norfolk.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Vernon on July 5, 1999 at the age of 69, 2 sons, Michael and Charles Neuhalfen and 2 grandchildren.
