Darlene Dolores Miller, age 86 of Obert, Nebraska, died on Friday, May 8, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Faith Lutheran Church in Maskell, Nebraska with Vicar Chad Beckius officiating. Burial will be in the Obert Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 5:00 pm to 8:00pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm at the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington, Nebraska. Visitation will begin one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the church.

Pallbearers will be Larry Dybdal. Ty Dybdal, Bob Steffen, John Steffen, Jim Steffen and Mike Saylor.

Darlene was born on April 16, 1929 at Niobrara, Nebraska to John and Freida Magdalena (Zeitner) Roether. She moved to Sioux City, Iowa as a young girl and graduated from Heelan High School in Sioux City. She married Robert O. Miller on November 27, 1946 in Hartington and they farmed in the Ponca and South Sioux City areas until 1952. They lived in Rio Linda, California from 1952 until moving to an acreage south of Obert in 1973. Darlene was very active in the Faith Lutheran Church and she and Bob maintained the Obert Cemetery for many years. She loved to garden, play cards and bake cookies for her friends. Most of all Darlene loved helping others.

Darlene is survived by 2 children and their spouses, Paul and Yvonne Miller of Cibilo, Texas; Linda and Rick Martinez of Melbourne, Florida; 5 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 27 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert on January 10, 1992 at the age of 66 and a brother, Leroy Roether.
