Ellen "Ellie" McGregor age 72 of Yankton, SD and formerly of Hartington, Nebraska died on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at the Wakonda Heritage Manor in Wakonda, SD.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington with the Rev. Jeffery Loeske officiating. Burial will be at St. Michael's Cemetery in Hartington. Visitation will be on Friday from 4-7:00 p.m. with a vigil service at 6:00 p.m. at the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington, NE.

Pallbearers will be her nephews; Scott, Todd, Keith, Jim, Bill, Mark, Tom, Ryan, and Ross McGregor, and Craig and Doug Moore. Honorary pallbearers will be her nieces; Patti Promes, Sue Driver, Joan Greder, Kathy Hochstein, Nancy Raszler, Julie Biggs, Kim Dieckmann, Kris Janke, Debbie Hegg, Stacy Eskins, and Kelsey McGregor.

Ellen Maureen McGregor was born on February 9, 1944 to Edward F. and Cecelia "Ceal" (Schwartz) McGregor in Hartington, NE. Ellie grew up in the Hartington area and graduated from Holy Trinity High school in 1962. After graduation she worked for Heimes Bakery and then moved to Yankton where she worked at the Human Service Center as a physical therapy tech, which was a job she dearly loved for many years. In her later years she was Senior Companion Caregiver.

Ellie was an avid bowler, golfer, but was a #1 Husker fan who never missed cheering for her beloved Huskers!

Ellie is survived by her five siblings and spouses, Dean and Geralda McGregor of Hartington, Gary and Shirley McGregor of Hartington, twin sister Elaine and Larry Moore of Fremont, Dave and Carol McGregor of Hartington, and Cheri McGregor of Omaha; beloved friend JoAnn Trudell; 22 nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ed and Ceal McGregor; nephew Steve McGregor.

I was sadden to hear of Ellie's passing many moons ago I worked with her at Pancho's villa she was the dishwasher there she was such a dear sweet lady and will be missed by many rest in peace Ellie until we meet again!!
