Gloria (Aune) Lippert, age 68, of Yankton, South Dakota, died Monday, August 10, 2015 at Avera Yankton Care Center.

Funeral services are 3:00 PM, on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Riverview Reformed Church in Yankton with Reverend Rodney Veldhuizen officiating. Inurnment will be at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Yankton. Visitation is from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, on Friday, August 14 at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton with a time of sharing and video tribute at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the funeral at church on Saturday.

Gloria was born October 1, 1946 in Yankton, South Dakota to Ernest and LuVerne (Kjeldseth) Aune. She grew up in Irene, South Dakota where she graduated high school in 1964. Gloria graduated from Stewart School of Hairstyling in Sioux Falls. She worked as a hairdresser all her life, first in Irene and then in Rapid City and Yankton. She loved her job and always enjoyed visiting with all her clients. While working as a hairdresser, Gloria also worked at numerous places in Yankton, including the Human Services Center as a mental health aide and then as the manager of the snack shop. On December 22, 1990, Gloria married Dean Lippert in Mission Hill, South Dakota and enjoyed almost 25 years of marriage together. Gloria loved being around others especially her grandchildren, nieces, nephews and all her family. She also enjoyed her time writing for the Yankton County Observer, going to garage sales and thrift stores and was an amazing cook.

Gloria is survived by her husband, Dean Lippert of Yankton; three step children: Jessine (Kevin) Dutcher of Yankton, Amy (Troy) Dinger of Aberdeen, SD and Allen (Christine) Lippert of Chamberlain, SD; six grandchildren: Kyler and Kennedy Dinger, Sayler, Wheeler, Apollo and Island Lippert and one grandchild on the way; two sisters: Mary (Jim) DeLozier of Yankton and Nancy (Charlie) Larsen of Yankton; one brother, Dave Aune of Mission Hill; one niece, Stacey (Chad) Renken of Yankton; five nephews, Dustin (Allison) DeLozier of Parker, CO, Cody (Sara) DeLozier of Lone Tree, CO Jason (Mindy) Larsen of Sioux Falls, Eric Aune of Sioux City, IA and Adam Aune of Yankton; and one uncle, Dennis (Jan) Aune of Sioux Falls.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; sister-in-law, Phyllis Aune; and two nephews: Nicholas Aune and Matthew DeLozier.

Oh, and what a lovely personality she had. She loved to talk and had so many dear friends. She was one of those people who we meet and never forget. We have a heavy heart with the news of Gloria's passing. It has been an honor to know Gloria. She was our neighbor and friend. We miss her.

Was and have been honored to meet Gloria and we had some great Visits together She will be missed by many. She loved to visit and entertain she was the best cook of anything. I loved running into her she would always giving me a hug and she would always ask about my grandkids loved to see pic of them she would brighten my day when I would see her. It was with sadness that I read of Gloria's passing. We were close neighbors to the Aunes in Irene and Gloria was very active in Jim's music program at school. They were a wonderful family and we felt it a privilege to know them. Gloria was a warm caring person. Prayers to all the family.

I'm so happy I took the time to stop and see this lady the day God decided it was time to end her suffering and call her home.
