Carol J. Kirchmeier, age 75 of Wynot, Nebraska died on Tuesday, March 15, 2016.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, March 18, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family (Sacred Heart) Catholic Church in Wynot with the Rev. Eric Olsen officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Wynot. Visitation will be on Thursday, at church, from 6-8:00 with a Vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday one hour prior to services. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington.
Pallbearers will be Joe Kuchta, Shane Leise, Mitchell Leise, Ted Hillman, J.D. Carr, and Alan Kuchta.
Carol Jean Kirchmeier was born on September 23, 1940 in Yankton, SD to Richard Anthony and Marie Viola (Murphy) Leise. She grew up in the Wynot area and graduated from Wynot High School in 1958. Carol married Norbert Eugene Kirchmeier on October 7, 1961 in Wynot, NE. She worked in Yankton prior to working as a secretary for 30 years at the Wynot High School. Carol then became the bookkeeper for Norbert's business at Wynot Sand and Gravel. She was a member of Holy Family parish and was an EMT for the Wynot Rescue Squad.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Teresa Martin of Yankton, SD; son-in-law Joe Kuchta of Wynot; three grandchildren Nathan Kuchta of Yankton, SD, Shayla and husband Ronnie Potts of Yankton, SD, Jordan Martin of New Orleans, Louisiana; great grandsons Jackson Nelson, Colton & Landon Potts all of Yankton; sister Mary Eckhardt of Cameron, TX; niece Brenda Simoneaux of LaPlace, LA; nephew Shane Leise of Wynot.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Norbert on December 12, 2015 at the age of 81 years; three siblings Marvin "Butch" Leise, Ida Leise, and Donna Fleming.
