Connie Lee Kiefer, age 74 of Wynot, Nebraska, died on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Hartington, Nebraska.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, June 2, 2014 at 10:30 am at the Holy Family (Sacred Heart) Catholic Church in Wynot with Rev. Eric Olsen officiating. Burial of her cremated remains will be in the Wynot Cemetery. Visitation will begin one hour prior to services on Monday at the church. The Wintz Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Jason Haahr and Dennis Promes.
Connie was born on October 6, 1939 at York, Nebraska to George and Janet Mae (Johnson) Jansa. She grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska and attended Lincoln High School until the 11th grade. Her family moved to Wynot in 1960. She worked in the laundry at Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton for a few years and also worked at the Legion Lunch Café in Yankton. In her later years she cared for her mother and step father, Dean Ritter. She enjoyed spending time with the neighborhood children and going to the casino. Connie moved to the Golden Living Center on April 22, 2011. She was a member of the Holy Family (Sacred Heart) Catholic Church and Altar Society.
Connie is survived by a brother, Ed Jansa of Wilber, Nebraska; a sister-in-law, Jenny Kiefer of Wynot; a good friend, Marlene Eskens and her husband Don Starman of Coleridge and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, Dean Ritter, brother, Al Kiefer and a sister, Ann VanFossen.
