Stephen D. "Pee Wee" Kalin age 81 of Coleridge, Nebraska died on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Park View Haven Nursing Home in Coleridge, NE.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, December 22, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Coleridge with the Rev. David Liewer officiating. Burial will be at St. Michael's Cemetery in Coleridge. Visitation will be on Sunday, at church, from 3-5:00 p.m. with a vigil service at 4:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday one hour prior to services. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home of Coleridge.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons Dexter Kalin, Luke Kalin, Joshua Kalin, Zachary Kalin, Tony Kalin, Matt Kalin, Jeremy Eddie, and Joel Eddie. Honorary pallbearers are his granddaughters Samantha Kalin and Jessica Witham.

Stephen was born on April 18, 1933 in Coleridge, Nebraska to Stephen and Nellie C. (Doughtery) Kalin. He grew up and lived in the Coleridge area most all of his life. He farmed until 1955 and then began working road construction for Petit Construction as a heavy equipment operator. Pee Wee also began working for the Cedar County Road Department in 1985. He did retire but then went back to work for Petit Construction.

Stephen was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. He loved hunting and fishing, especially coyote hunting.

He is survived by his three children and spouses Marlin and Sharon Kalin of South Sioux City, NE, Deb and Charles Eddie of Ashland, NE, Dave and Mary Kalin of Norfolk, NE; daughter-in-law Sheila Kalin of Hartington; 10 grandchildren; six great grandchildren.

Stephen was preceded in death by his parents; wife Marlene on November 22, 2011 at the age of 75 years; son Gerald; daughter Vickie Ahrendt; two brothers Donald and Eugene Kalin.
