Melva Ishmael, age 56, of Yankton, South Dakota died Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton.
Memorial service will be 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 24, 2014 at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton, South Dakota with Reverend James Schertzinger officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Yankton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home.
Melva Ishmael was born August 21, 1958 in Sioux City, Iowa to Melvin and Vivian Driver. She attended school in Sioux City graduating from West Central High School. She married Edward Ishmael in 1979 and moved to Yankton, where she worked at Harbor Lights, Sunshine Foods, Wendy's, Yesterdays Café and most recently for Taggart's Sanitation.
Melva loved collecting angels and eagles, fishing, playing bingo, and spending time with her friends. Her family was the most important thing in her life and she loved spending time with them above all else.
Survivors include her three children: Melita Johnson of Yankton; Christopher Ishmael of Rapid City, South Dakota; and Alandrea Ishmael of Yankton; her ex-husband, Edward Ishmael of Yankton; and brother, Rudy Driver.
She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Amanda.
