John "Johnny" L. Hubbard, age 67 of Hartington, Nebraska died on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at his residence. Services are being planned at a later date in California. Arrangements are being handled by the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington.

John was born on January 4, 1946 at Muskegon, Michigan to Lee Ezra and Lois Mae (Bryant) Hubbard. He was raised in Whittier, California and lived most of his life in Homeland and Hemet, California where he was a plumber. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He loved to fish and has lived in Hartington since 2009.

John is survived by a daughter, Lorena Lee Thompson and Bret Jarvis of Yuma, AZ; 3 grandchildren, Lindy Marie, Brian Allen and Bradley Lincoln, his mother, Lois Wood of Prosser, WA; 2 brothers, Henry (Mamie) Hubbard of Choktaw, OK; Thomas (Marilyn) Hubbard of Florida; 4 sisters, Nancy Dallman of Hartington; Betty (Joe) Klus of Hartington; Celane Holloman of Prosser and Lois Colvin of Hartington.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Johnny, You are so missed. We love you and await our meeting at a time when God determines that we shall. We will share all we have of you with the family that are still here. Your grandchildren will carry on your love of the outdoors and fishing. We are sorry we could not do more to keep you here longer. Your picture is prominent fin our home for all to ask, "Tell us about him."

RIP Johnny Thanks for being a great brother in law and thanks for teaching me plumbing for taking me fishing and for taking me in when I was a young punk. You've always respected me and was kind to me and I'll always be greatful for that. God bless you and say Hi to my big sis.
