Troy A. Howes, age 49, of Yankton, South Dakota, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at his residence.

Memorial services are 11:00 AM, on Monday, September 28, 2015 at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton with Reverend Clyde Teel officiating. Inurnment will be at the Milltown Cemetery in rural Parkston, South Dakota at a later date. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service on Monday.

Honorary pallbearers are Jade Boone, Blake Howes, Brian Horstmann, Robyn Horstmann, Scott Horstmann and Randy Ernesti.

Troy was born August 10, 1966 in Parkston, South Dakota to Arnie and Sharon (Uhrich) Howes. When he was four years old, the family moved to O'Neill, Nebraska. Troy attended O'Neill High School where he played football. After school, he moved to Norfolk, Nebraska and worked at Freezer Services, then Norfolk Iron and Metal and also drove truck for several different trucking companies. On March 1, 1990, Troy married Connie Cedar. They moved to Yankton in 2003 and Troy started his own catering business called Tiny's BBQ. He loved cooking and won several BBQ competitions. Troy also enjoyed fishing, driving truck and was a big Husker and NASCAR fan. Troy treasured the company of his two dogs, Jack and Jill. He loved his nieces and nephews and spending time with his family.

Troy is survived by his wife, Connie Howes of Yankton; sister, Renee (Gavin) Strong of Springfield, SD; two aunts, Mary Uhrich of Yankton and Donna Stainbrook of Milltown, SD; father-in-law, William Cedar of Creighton, NE; sister-in-law, Teresa (Bruce) Horstmann of Orchard, NE; and many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Connie, Renea and family was so sorry to hear of Troy passing what a shock and so young. The saying is God only takes the best and we knew Troy as the best. There will be lots of memories. He will be harassing your parents I am almost sure of that. You all have our deepest sympathy and God's Blessing to all...
