Dolores A. Hochstein, age 87 of Wynot, Nebraska died on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, South Dakota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family (Sacred Heart) Catholic Church in Wynot, Nebraska with the Rev. Eric Olsen officiating. Cremation will occur after the Funeral Mass and burial of her cremated remains will be at a later date at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Wynot. Visitation will be on Wednesday, at church, from 6-8:00 p.m. with a Vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday one hour prior to services. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington.
Pallbearers will be Shawn Koch, Casey Koch, Liam Villanueva, Brennan Koch, Mike Villanueva, Melvin Sudbeck, and Robert Schmidt.
Honorary pallbearers will be Maya Villanueva, Kelsey Villanueva, Laura Villanueva, Everly Koch, and Raegan Koch.
Dolores Ann was born August 4th, 1931 to Arthur and Rose (Burbach) Sudbeck in Bow Valley. She grew up in the Bow Valley area, graduated from Sts. Peter & Paul Grade School in 1945 and from Holy Trinity High School in 1949. On August 8, 1950, Dolores married Merlin Hochstein in Bow Valley, NE. They farmed in the Bow Valley area until moving to Wynot in 1987.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Wynot, Christian Mothers, and a member of the Wynot American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include one son, Pete and two daughters, Jill Koch and Mary Lee (Mike) Villanueva, three grandsons, Shawn Koch, Casey Koch, and Liam Villanueva, three granddaughters, Maya Villanueva, Kelsey Villanueva, and Laura Villanueva, one great-grandson Brennan Koch, two great granddaughters Everly Koch and Raegan Renae Koch and great-granddaughter Olivia Mae due in October . She is also survived by two sisters Mary Jean (Jerry) Uhing, Sharon Schmidt (Jerry), 5 brothers, Don (Gloria) Sudbeck, Clair (Deanna) Sudbeck, Lloyd (Janice) Sudbeck, David (Annette) Sudbeck, Kevin (Jaci) Sudbeck, and two sisters-in-law Jeann Sudbeck and Karen Sudbeck.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Merlin, son Dan, and two brothers, Henry and Claude Sudbeck.
