Tyler James Heikes, age 30 of Sioux Falls, South Dakota died on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at his residence.

A memorial service for Tyler will be on Friday, April 15, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington, Nebraska. Friends may greet the family from 4-6 pm at Wintz Funeral Home. A private burial will be held for immediate family following evening services with lunch to follow at Tooties in Hartington, NE.

Tyler was born December 2, 1985 to Ryan Heikes and JoLee (Folkers) DelMonte in Yankton SD. He graduated from Mitchell High School in 2004. He attended Southeast Technical Institute in Sioux Falls for Automotive Technician. He was a mechanic at Billion Mazda in Sioux Falls.

Tyler loved all things outdoors. Fishing, camping, four-wheeling, pheasant hunting and especially deer hunting. Fall was his favorite time of year and he dearly loved spending time hunting with his dad, brothers, and best friend Joel.

He enjoyed the simple things in life. Stopping at the casino after work, grilling, harassing his beloved cat Deuce, hanging with buddies or road tripping in the Nebraska countryside listening to music and spending time with his brothers. Tyler was a joy to be around. His quick wit was sure to bring a laugh. He lit up a room with his presence. He will be so dearly missed.

Left to mourn his passing are his father Ryan (Meridee) Heikes of Cedar Rapids, NE; mother JoLee DelMonte of Sioux Falls, SD: brothers Justin Heikes of Obert, NE, Todd Heikes of Hartington; Turner, Easton and sister Ashtyn Heikes all of Cedar Rapids; grandmother Janice Heikes of Hartington, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandpa Roger Heikes, grandpa Larry Folkers, grandma Glenda Folkers, and uncle Randy Folkers.

Memorials will be put toward a headstone and may be directed to Justin Heikes, 57474 887 Rd, Obert, NE
