Sharon Lynn Hausman, age 75, of Yankton, South Dakota, died Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at Avera Sunset Manor in Irene, South Dakota
A small family memorial service will be 10:30 AM on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton, South Dakota. Burial of the urn will take place in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Yankton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Sharon Lynn Hausman was born January 26, 1939 in Hartington, Nebraska, to Robert Ray and Marie (Lorensen) Cooper. She grew up in Hartington and graduated from Hartington High School in 1957. She married Gary Hausman on October 2, 1965 in LaVerne, Minnesota. They lived in Yankton, South Dakota after their marriage where she continued to live her entire life. She worked for Gurneys for a few years and later in the kitchen at the State Hospital in Yankton.
Sharon enjoyed boating, fishing, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Everyone knew her for her red hair, her wonderful sense of humor and her great storytelling.
Survivors include her three brothers: Jerry Cooper of Hartington, Nebraska; Bob (Debbie) Cooper of Maryville, Missouri; and Chuck (Sandi) Cooper of Omaha, Nebraska; two sisters: Colleen (Bob) Olson of Gayville, South Dakota and Cindy (Rick) Kollars of Lincoln, Nebraska; two grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gary Hausman; son, Mark Hausman; and brother, Jim Cooper.
