Duane Michael Hausman, age 86 of Yankton, South Dakota, died on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at the Avera Sister James Care Center in Yankton.
Memorial Services will be on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 10:30 am at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton with Rev DCruz Nicholas officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Yankton with military honors provided by the Ernest-Bowyer VFW Post 791.
Duane was born on November 20, 1931 in Yankton, SD to Carl Clements and Clara Josephine (Schmidt) Hausman. He grew up in the St. Helena area and served in the Army during the Korean Conflict from July 7, 1952 to June 16, 1954. He farmed with his father until moving to the Lesterville, SD area where he continued farming. He had been a resident of the Autumn Winds Assisted Living in Hartington and then Yankton until moving to the Avera Sister James Care Center in Yankton.
Duane is survived by a sister, Janet Vyborny of Utica, SD; a brother, David Hausman of St. Helena, NE and 11 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Lugardis Grosz and Lavonne Hausman, 3 brothers, Dennis, Herschel and Gary Hausman and a brother-in-law, Joe Vyborny.
