Louis W. "Bill" Hahn, age 93 of Hartington, Nebraska died on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at the Park View Haven Nursing Home in Coleridge, Nebraska.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington with the Rev. Jeffery Loseke officiating. Burial will follow the mass at Lawn Ridge cemetery in rural Coleridge. Visitation will be on Friday from 5-7:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 6:00 p.m. at the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington.
Pallbearers will be Mark Carlson, Dave Konz, Rick Larson, John Dreesen, Tom Dreesen, and Karl Koch.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Louis William Hahn was born on February 18, 1923 in rural Hartington to Joseph and Margaret (Leffelman) Hahn. He attended Branch Country School #14 east of Hartington on Hwy 84. Bill's father died when he was in the 8th grade and so he began farming at that time. Bill married Loretta Georgia Patent on June 27, 1966. Bill farmed until he and Loretta moved into Hartington in 1985. Bill sold Trojan Seed corn and adjusted hail damaged crops. Bill had worked at Gurney's Seed and Nursery a few years and also drove the school bus on the route northwest of Hartington. Bill cleaned the ASCS government offices in Hartington and did some woodworking on the side as a hobby. Bill like fishing and bowling.
Bill is survived by his wife Loretta of the Embers in Coleridge, NE; Loretta's three sons and spouses Gail and Linda Konken of Ponca, NE, Galen Konken of Sterling, CO, Greg and Sue Konken of Chancellor, SD; six grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brother Gene and wife Laureen Hahn of Lincoln, NE; two sisters Delores Armstrong of Sepulveda, CA, Mary Dreesen of Yankton, SD; many nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters Gert Konz Vonderheide, Leona Johnson, Evelyn McCoy; and two brothers Albert and Harold.
