Marilyn Jean Hahne, age 81 of Coleridge, Nebraska died on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at her residence.
Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Coleridge with the Rev. Debra Valentine officiating. Burial will be at Lawnridge cemetery in Coleridge. Visitation will be on Tuesday at church from 5-8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday one hour prior to services. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Coleridge, NE.
Pallbearers will be Andy Hahne, Todd Hahne, Matt Hahne, Nate Hahne, Caleb Hahne, Mike Frerichs, Adam Hurley, and Mason Hahne.
Honorary pallbearers will be Janet Gillespie, Patti Cook, Michele Seagren, Leah Schaller, Jessica Peters, Christa Hurley, and Lauren Hahne.
Marilyn Jean was born on July 1, 1933 in Hartington, Nebraska to Conrad and Wilma (Hansen) Hefner. Marilyn was baptized on July 22, 1933 and confirmed on June 2, 1946. She grew up in Coleridge and Laurel and graduated from Coleridge High School in 1951. On October 11, 1951 she married Donovan Hahne in Coleridge. Marilyn and Don made their home on the farm northeast of Coleridge.
Marilyn enjoyed bowling with the same women on the bank team for 45 years, she was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Our Night Out Club and card club. She enjoyed most being a homemaker, a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Marilyn loved her family and enjoyed going to her grandkids and great grandkids activities.
She truly lived a life of service, not only impacting her family, but always was willing to help friends by making food, driving them to appointments or having a big smile to share. She will be dearly missed by all. She will never be forgotten.
She is survived by her husband Donovan of Coleridge; five children and their spouses Roger Hahne of Coleridge, Sandy and Dave Frerichs of Coleridge, Kevin and Rebecca Hahne of Norfolk, NE, Sharon and Joe Hurley of Sioux Falls, SD, Doug and Mary Hahne of Hartington; 15 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; one brother Ron and wife Linda Hefner of Ft. Collins, CO; one sister Carol Barber of Denver, CO; brother-in-law Wendell Hahne of Norfolk, NE; sister-in-law Marva Lee Felber of Newman Grove, NE.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents Conrad and Wilma Hefner.
