Doris Frank, age 81, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and formerly of Yankton, South Dakota died Monday, December 16, 2013 at her residence.

Memorial services are 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton with Reverend Greg Berglund officiating. Inurnment will be at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Yankton. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 on Friday, December 27 at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton with a prayer service at 7:00 PM.

Doris was born February 5, 1932 in Irene, South Dakota to Cress and Selma (Fiedler) Culver. She grew up in the Yankton area where she attended school. On October 27, 1951, Doris married Donald C. Frank in Yankton. Don served in the United States Navy so they lived in Tennessee and California. After Don's honorable discharge, they lived in Sioux City, Iowa for several years and then moved back to Yankton in 1960. Doris worked at various places throughout her life, including in the physical therapy department at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital, Captain Norm's and ABC Chicken. In the mid 1990's, she moved to Sioux Falls to be closer to her family. Doris always stayed active and loved to go on walks. She had a very generous heart and contributed to many different organizations. She took great comfort in the daily reading of her Bible and watching Billy Graham on television. But her most favorite thing in life was gathering with her family and cooking a meal for them. Doris was an excellent cook and you never left her house hungry. She will truly be missed.

Doris is survived by three daughters, Donna Frank of Sioux Falls, Vickie (Jerrold) McDonald of Irene, SD and Deb Filler of Sioux Falls; 12 grandchildren which she absolutely adored: Amy, Angela, Jay, Tim, Deonna, Emily, Christal, Ryan, Alicia, Ashley, Hillary and Macaulay; 22 great grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Dale of Gayville, SD; and many nieces and nephews.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Kenneth; six brothers: Clifford, Calvin, Cress Jr., Elmer, Dennis, Dural Culver; and one sister, Priscilla Berglund.

Messages will be reviewed and posted within 1 business day.

My sincere sympathy to all your family. Watching the video brought many memories (big red barn on Ron/John's farm), Sigel hall, and also many tears just thinking about the 'good old days' when our parents played cards. Some day I will hope to see you 'girls' and relive some of those memories. May your parents and brother Rest In Peace.
