Carol Fiscus, age 55, of Coleridge, Nebraska died on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Park View Haven Nursing Home in Coleridge, Nebraska.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM, on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Coleridge with Rev. Jim Keiter officiating. Burial will be at St. Michael's Cemetery in Coleridge. Visitation is from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, on Monday September 28 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Coleridge with a vigil service at 7:00 PM. Visitation continues one hour prior to the funeral at church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Coleridge.
Pallbearers are her nephews: Brandon Fiscus, Shane Fiscus, Jeff Hansen, Travis Hansen, Justin Fiscus, Kassidy Neuhalfen and Tyson Fiscus. Honorary pallbearers are her nieces: Lacey Koepke, Lachelle Zuhlke, Tanya Hallock, Tiffany Kalin, Amy Meier and Kayla Meyer.
Carol Ann Fiscus was born June 30, 1960 in Yankton, South Dakota to Linn and Corrine (Stemper) Fiscus. Carol graduated from Coleridge Community High School in 1979 and then worked at Park View Haven Nursing Home until May 2007. Carol held positions as an aide and also in housekeeping but spent most of her career in the dietary department. She then worked at Hillcrest Care Center in Laurel, Nebraska in the dietary department from June 2007 to July 2008. Carol became a resident at Park View Haven in September 2008. Family was very dear to Carol and she was surrounded by a close-knit family. Carol loved people, especially children. Likewise, she had a special connection with the other residents at Park View Haven. Carol enjoyed spending time and laughing with them while encouraging them in their daily activities. She loved to play cards, go on road trips, and have turtle fries and birthday parties with her dear friends. A jigsaw puzzle was always in the works on her table.
Carol is survived by her three sisters: Donna (Mike) Hansen of Coleridge, Linda (Bruce) Meier of Belden, and Kathy Neuhalfen of Laurel; four brothers: Dan (Sharon) Fiscus of Coleridge, Keith (Lynnel) Fiscus of Coleridge, Mike (Janelle) Fiscus of Coleridge and Bruce (Kathy) Fiscus of Bloomfield; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Carol was blessed with special friends: Claude Hofeldt, Virgil Bayne, Dale Bartling, Cecelia "Sissy" Calhoon, Janelle, Chad and Jason Frerichs, Justin Fiscus and Ashley Wemhoff, all of Coleridge.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Linn and Corrine Fiscus; and nephew, Cody Fiscus.
