On May 14, 1944, she married Cecil Ellinger at St. Petersburg Congregational Church in rural Lesterville. After their marriage, they farmed south of Scotland and raised their family. Early in her life, Eldora committed herself to the Lord. Her faith was incredibly important and provided her with a clear vision. Eldora lived her Christian faith in how she treated others and in how she loved her family. She was involved in her church and was a Sunday School teacher for over 25 years. She was also a member of the Gideon Auxiliary. Eldora enjoyed going to her grandchildren's activities and later in life, enjoyed numerous trips with her husband. In July 2008, she became a resident of Oakview Terrace in Freeman.
Eldora is survived by her husband of 71 years, Cecil Ellinger of Scotland; six children: Steve Ellinger of Norwood, MO, Peg (Matt) Mottice of Mineral City, OH, Ted (Diane) Ellinger of Freeman, Pat (Charles) Asche of Sioux Falls, Greg (Roxanne) Ellinger of Lesterville, and Deb Ellinger of Watertown, SD; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; brother, Jerry (Donna) Schafer of Vermillion, SD; and many nieces and nephews.

Pat and family:
We want you to know how wonderful the memorial service was for your mother. We enjoyed hearing what the siblings had to say about your mom. It was so nice to meet your dad again and visit with some of your siblings. The message your mom's pastor shared was awesome. Your mother indeed was an awesome Christian lady. Of all the wonderful things that were said about your mom, what we will never forget is how great a praying lady she was. May the Holy Spirit continue to bless and comfort all of you as your recall all the fantastic memories of mom's life before she was promoted to Glory.
We love you so much!!

To ALL the family:
What a thrill it was to come to the memorial service and hear all the wonderful and thrilling things that Eldora and Cecil taught their children. I was fantastic to hear of Eldora loved the Lord and how much a prayer worrier she was. All their children can be so proud of mom and dad. I got to meet them when they came to Pastor Chuck and Pat's church in Brandon. I was touched to hear of how marvelous Christian Eldora was all her life. I pray the family will treasure her memories and be the parent to your children as she was to you. God be with each and everyone of you as you celebrate her promotion to Glory.
Sad to hear the passing of Aunt Eldora. Sorry that we can't be there in person for the funeral.
