Miles Dolphay, age 56, of Yankton, South Dakota, died unexpectedly on Friday, July 21, 2017 at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton.
Funeral services are 2:00 PM, on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home with Reverend Ron Johnson officiating. After the funeral, cremation will take place and inurnment will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Yankton. Visitation is from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, on Tuesday, July 25 at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton.
Miles was born December 8, 1960 in Harlem, Montana to Cleo and Edith (Parenteau) Dolphay. He grew up in Malta, Montana where he attended school and then enrolled in a trade school in Kicking Horse, Montana to become a Heavy Equipment Operator. Miles worked for Phillips County for several years and then Walker Lee Bee Company in Malta, Montana and Live Oak, California for almost 10 years. In 1993, he moved to Yankton and started working for Alumax, which is now Sapa Extrusions, where he was currently employed. Miles loved hunting and shooting, mud-racing, doing jigsaw puzzles, playing pool and working on vehicles. He was a good hearted, mild tempered, hard working man who will be missed by all who knew him.
Miles is survived by three brothers: Cleo (Tami) Dolphay, Bret Dolphay, and Darren (Jessica) Palmer, all of Yankton; two sisters: Kathy (Kenny) Ereaux of Malta, MT and Christine (Jason) Krumback of Yankton; six nieces and nephews: Christopher and Matthew VanWinkle, Mason Ereaux, CJ Dolphay, Nathan Krumback and Kerri (Calvin) Thompson; four great nieces and nephews: Kylie, Paxton, Alivia and Mya; one uncle, Donald (Joyce) Parenteau of Libby, MT; and several cousins.
Miles was preceded in death by his parents, Cleo and Edith; step father, Darrold Palmer; and sister, Kimberly Ann Palmer.
