Bernadine Florence Davis of Littleton, Colorado, formerly of Hartington, NE, died on Friday, September 29, 2017 at the Cherrelyn Healthcare Center in Littleton, CO.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington with the Rev. Owen Korte officiating. Burial will be at St. Michael's cemetery in Hartington. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5-7:00 p.m. with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. at the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington. Visitation will continue on Friday, at church, one hour prior to services.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Davis, Tanner Barrera, Michael Barrera, Alex Davis, Carter Davis, and Cooper Davis.
She was born on October 18, 1930 in Hartington, NE to Elmo and Florence (Koch) Dreesen. She grew up in Hartington and attended Holy Trinity High School. Bernadine was married to Elmer Davis on May 9, 1949 in Elk Point, SD. She lived in many different cities in the U.S. and has lived in Denver since 1992.
Survivors include her 5 children, Connie (Conrad) Bensen of Ireton, Iowa, Jerry (Cindy) Davis of Correctionville Iowa, Cheryl (Ken) Allen of Castle Rock Colorado, Rick (Cindy) Davis of Milford Iowa and Larry Davis of Paullina, Iowa; five sisters, Marietta (Charles) Young of Dakota City, Iowa, Karen (Roger) Arndt of Spencer, IA, Helen (Alan) Heikes of Wayne, NE, Linda (Lonnie) Schrempp of Yankton, SD, and Janie Tuttle of Hartington. 16 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Elmer; daughter-in-law Laurel Davis; 3 sisters (Phyllis Vettel, Marlene Kalin, and Lorraine Harbeck; 3 brothers Edwin, Dick and Bobby Dreesen; brothers-in-law Stephen Kalin & James Tuttle.
