Lori Marie Burton was born on October 21, 1956 in Yankton, South Dakota to Lorton Lyle & Lorine Coletta (Menke) Burton. She grew up south of Hartington and graduated from Randolph High School in 1974. Lori then attended Northeast Community College in Norfolk. Her mother Lorine died on May 22, 2001 at the age of 79 years. Her father Lorton then died on August 2, 2005 at the age of 89 years. Lori continued to live on the farm where she had the same love as her father for the "Ranching" way of life. Lori loved watching over her farm. She enjoyed crafting and especially knitting and crocheting. She loved having outings for lunch and shopping and was very thankful for those that would help her in her time of need. Lori found great support by concerned friends and neighbors after the death of her parents. Lori enjoyed giving gifts for all occasions and giving Halloween treats to the neighbor's children and loved attending her class reunions at Randolph. Her faithful and fearless companion was her dog Rocky.
Lori is survived by cousins and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lorton and Lorine Burton, several aunts and uncles.

Dear Lori, We love you and will miss you so! We hope you didn't have to suffer much. How I will miss your "Good Mornings" and awesome phone calls! Thank you for all the treasure trove of family knowledge you had and shared with us all! We know you are in the loving arms of our Savior, Jesus Christ and that you are reunited with your Dad and Mom.

Our sympathy to Lori's family and friends. We will miss sharing Christmas messages. We loved your phone calls.
Blessings, Cousin Don and Linda Hohneke
We were saddened to hear of the death of Lori. Lori's Father and my mother were cousins and we saw alot of her and her parents before her parents death. We regret that we have only been in contact with her by phone the last few years. Unfortunately we are unable to celebrate her life Friday night as we have a family trip planned and leave that day. Know that we will keep her and all affected by her loss in our prayers.

Dear family and friends,
We're sorry that cancelled flights kept us from Lori's memori service. Coincidentally, the same thing happened when my mother, Lori's aunt, Rose Burton Forkner was buried in Hartington years ago.
