Robert "Bob" L. Burcham, age 79 of Obert, Nebraska left this world to be with his Lord on Saturday, April 18, 2015 surrounded by his family at St. Lukes Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church in Maskell, Nebraska with Vicar Chad Beckius and Rev. Randy Rasmussen officiating. Burial will be at the Maskell cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday at the church in Maskell from 5-8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday one hour prior to services at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington.

Pallbearers will be Robert Sorensen, Dr. Jacob Geis, Joseph Geis, Dylan Rasmussen, Austin Burcham, and Zach Burcham.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Torrie Summers, Breanna Rasmussen, Katie Sorensen, Dr. Anna Fitzwater, Leah Geis, Heather Burcham, Andrew Beckius, and Caleb Beckius.

Robert was born on June 4, 1935 at Gordon, Nebraska to Elmer and Mildred (Olander) Burcham. He graduated from Maskell High School and went on to work in Sioux City, Iowa. On September 1, 1956, he married Ivadell Nelson. He worked as a USDA poultry and egg inspector for over 30 years at Swift & Company and Waldbaums. Robert also farmed and raised horses and cattle in the Maskell & Obert area throughout his life. He was an avid hunter and especially enjoyed the annual deer season with his son, grandsons and friend, Dan Veto. Bob also enjoyed playing cards with many friends and attending his grandchildrens' activities. He was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church and enjoyed visiting those who were shut in.

Robert and Ivadell had five children: Tammie (Randy) Rasmussen, Cindy (Ronald) Geis, Shelly (Bruce) Sorensen, David Burcham, and Lisa (Chad) Beckius. They were also blessed with 15 grandchildren: Dr. Torrie (Eland) Summers, Amanda, Dylan, and Breanna Rasmussen; Robert and Katie Sorensen, Dr. Jacob (Carolyn) Geis, Dr. Anna (Ben) Fitzwater, Joseph and Leah Geis; Heather, Austin and Zachary Burcham; and Andrew and Caleb Beckius, and great-granddaughter, Peat Summers. Robert is also survived by his two brothers, Jim (Joan) Burcham and William Burcham and numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Tammie, and granddaughter, Amanda.
