Lucille Marie Burbach, age 92 of Yankton, SD and formerly of Wynot, Nebraska died on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Avera Sister James Nursing Home in Yankton.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, September 21, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family (Sacred Heart) Catholic Church in Wynot, Nebraska with the Rev. Eric Olsen officiating. Burial will be at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Wynot. Visitation will on Sunday at the church in Wynot from 2-5:00 p.m. with a Vigil service at 4:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday, at the church, one hour prior to services. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Chad Burbach, Robb Burbach, Brian Burbach, Duane Burbach, Filip Burbach, Aaron Burbach, Tyler Burbach and Brett Noecker. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
Lucille Marie Burbach was born on May 30, 1923 in Menominee, Nebraska to Fred F. and Catherine "Katie" (Klug) Wieseler. She grew up on a farm near St. Helena, Nebraska and attended elementary school there. Lucille worked at Wallbaum's Drug Store in Yankton prior to her marriage to Joseph John Burbach on October 25, 1948 in St. Helena. She and Joe moved to the Burbach family farm northwest of Wynot. Lucille received her High School GED in 1976. She and Joe moved into Wynot in 1985.
She yearned to read and educate herself as much as possible. One of her passions was making homemade bread along with raising and canning her garden produce.
Lucille is survived by her six children and spouses, Lyle and Jeanne Burbach of Springfield, MO, Lynette and Clayton Bruening of Yankton, SD, Chuck and Paula Burbach of Wynot, Dennis and Susan Burbach of Yankton, SD, Kathy and Rick Noecker of Hartington, Mark and Theresa Burbach of Yankton, SD; daughter-in-law Donna and husband Rich Boeckman of St. Helena; 19 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sister Beatrice Dickes of Fordyce; brother Joseph and Romaine Wieseler of St. Helena; sisters-in-law Gladys Wieseler of St. Helena, Rosemary Wieseler of Hartington, Sharon Wieseler of Menominee; brother-in-law Wally Gale of Wenatchee, WA.
She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Katie Wieseler, husband Joseph John Burbach on September 26, 2002 at the age of 77 years; son Bill; brothers Jerome, Ralph, Larry and Art Wieseler; sisters Marcella Anderson, and Gertrude Gale.
