Robert R. "Bob" Brewer, age 58, of Yankton South Dakota, died as the result of a vehicle accident on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, in Iowa.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton.

Robert R. "Bob" Brewer was born August 13, 1959, in Yankton, South Dakota to Robert J. and Mary Lou (Kippes) Brewer. He grew up in Yankton and graduated from Yankton High School in 1977. He married Corliss Dooley on October 6, 1979, in Freeman, South Dakota. They lived in Yankton for six years after their marriage until Bob built their house in Utica, South Dakota. He worked for manufacturers all over the Yankton area and was very proud that he worked in every aspect of manufacturing. From drafting, to aggregate, to engineering, to application, to sales, Bob did it all. He was most recently employed at Masaba in Vermillion.

Bob was a hardworking problem solver who was very handy and could build just about anything. He built his home and wooden boats, and also rebuilt cars. He even designed and invented tools to help him fix machinery at work or racecars and equipment at home. He loved racing, especially with his son, Adam. He was a great dad and loved his kids more than life.

Survivors include his wife, Corliss Brewer of Utica; two children: Adam Brewer of Bloomfield, New Mexico and Caitlyn Brewer of Utica; brother, Jim (Sandy) Brewer of Yankton; sister, JoAnn (Robert) Ebbesen of Bismarck, North Dakota; sister-in-law, Kathy Brewer of Yankton; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ron Brewer.

Messages will be reviewed and posted within 1 business day.

I was a friend and neighbor of Bob's growing up. During high school and afterwards, we grew apart as naturally happens. I'll always remember fun, happy times with Bob as a child, and his warm, caring heart and soul. My condolences to his family and friends on such a tragic loss. My thoughts and prayer are with you.
