Lawrence V. "Dewey" Becker, age 89 of Wynot, Nebraska, died on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Park View Haven Nursing Home in Coleridge, NE.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family (Sacred Heart) Catholic Church in Wynot, Nebraska with the Rev. Eric Olsen officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Wynot. Visitation will be on Tuesday, at church, from 5-8:00 p.m. with a Vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington.
Pallbearers will be Keith Becker, Dean Becker, Tom Kolbeck, Jim Cleveland, Matt Wuebben, and Bart Wuebben.
Lawrence V. Becker was born on November 17, 1927 in St. Helena, Nebraska to Albert and Anna (Leise) Becker. He grew up in the St. Helena area and attended St. Mary's Catholic School and was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish in St. Helena. As a young man, he farmed with his family and became a mail carrier in the St. Helena area. In 1953 he began working with his father for Mobil Oil; and, eventually took over the business and operated it until his retirement in 1987.
Dewey married Delores (Wuebben) Becker on June 1, 1953 in Wynot. They raised six children. Dewey was a member of Holy Family (Sacred Heart) Catholic Church in Wynot. Dewey enjoyed golfing, bowling, watching baseball/football, playing cards and especially spending time with the Becker & Wuebben families and with his many friends.
Dewey is survived by his six children and their spouses, Carla Becker of Lincoln, Terry & Jeannette Becker of Wynot, Stan & Brock Becker of Bellingham, WA, Renee & Karl Cole of Denison, TX, Janet Becker of Lincoln, and Donna Becker of Lincoln; two grandchildren, Charles Svendgard of Wynot, Desiree & husband Ted Low of Dallas, TX; great granddaughter Lilly Low.
Dewey was preceded in death by his parents, wife Delores on June 8, 2010 at the age of 79 years; three brothers and wives, Gerald & Betty Becker, Jerome & Mildred Becker, infant brother Robert Becker.

Dear Becker family, I have such fond memories of coming back to Wynot with Renee and spending time with you all and your parents. They were true gems and I am so sorry for your loss. Your whole family is so wonderful and that is a testament to your parents wonderful upbringing. I love you all and am so sorry for your loss.
