Wayne D. Bass, age 38, of Weston, Nebraska, died unexpectedly on Friday, November 13, 2015, in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton, South Dakota, with Reverend Rodney Veldhuizen officiating. Burial will be in the Crofton City Cemetery in Crofton, Nebraska, following the funeral lunch. Visitation is one hour prior to the funeral on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Lamar Cuda, Tim Haas, Terry Haas, Tanner Haas, Trevor Haas, and Dylan Haas.

Wayne D. Bass was born January 25, 1977, in Billings, Montana to Bruce and Charlene (Haas) Bass. He grew up and attended school in Wahoo, Nebraska, graduating from Wahoo High School in 1995. After high school, Wayne began his career in road construction in the Wahoo and Lincoln areas, which he continued throughout his life.

Wayne was a very hard worker who enjoyed boating, jet skiing, racing cars and spending time with his friends. He loved his family above all else and was a good son and wonderful father.

Survivors include his son, Colton Bass of Weston, Nebraska; father and step-mother, Bruce and Kim Bass of Weston; twin brother, Shane (Amber) Bass of Ceresco, Nebraska and their son Caden; step-brother, Brian (Shannon) Gyhra of Ceresco; close friend, Lamar Cuda of Weston; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Charlene; grandparents: Avon and Glennys Haas and Bill and Ruby Bass; as well as three uncles: Dale, Lowell, and Kenny Haas.
