Jon Marc was born on June 12, 1963 to Norris C. and Leora M. (Rippen) Augustin in Red Cloud, Nebraska.
He lived in Blue Hill, Nebraska until 1965, then moved with family to Columbus where he was graduated from Columbus High School in 1981. He attended Central Community College in Columbus earning a business degree. Jon was employed in Denver, later returning to Lohr Petroleum in Columbus and then to Kaneb Pipeline from 1990 to 1999. He married Kiyvon D'Ette Saunders December 31, 1991 in Yankton, SD. Jon worked as a utility line foreman for E.C.I. in Yankton and was currently employed as a broadband technician for Great Plains Communications.
Jon was a kind and caring man, loving husband and father. He was a rugged outdoorsman and sportsman with an amazing flair for and love of the shooting sports. Jon and Kiyvon worked hard to teach their boys the important things in life and he was fiercely proud of their remarkable academic achievements and careers. As an accomplished craftsman, engineer, fabricator and welder, Jon built many things that will last centuries! He and Kiyvon built a beautiful home together that is a testament to his talents and her skill and impeccable taste, as well as being the greatest place on earth to rear three boys. His wit and sense of humor brought smiles to everyone around him, and his unmistakable laugh was contagious. If you were friends with Jon, you had a trusted friend for life.
Jon is survived by his wife Kiyvon of Crofton; three sons, Jesse Augustin of Ogallala, Tommy Augustin of Kearney, and Cory Augustin of Crofton; parents Norry and Lee Augustin of Columbus, sister Jaci Augustin of Ceresco, niece Jena Augustin of Columbus, brother-in-law Thaine and wife Peg Saunders of Duncan, father-in-law Tom Saunders of Omaha, NE.

I am so sorry to hear of Jon's passing. I only worked with Jon for a year but he was always such a character to talk to when he was calling in about a customer or an account. You could literally feel his smile coming through the phone. Heaven gained an angel. Even though it may seem hard at times, you can rest assured that Jon will make sure the phone lines from Heaven are always open and ready to hear from you.
