After high school, Janet started working for Max Goetz's Attorney office as a secretary and worked there until the day before her 1st child, Amy, was born. After raising her family of four children (Amy, Todd, Russ, & Becky), she went to work at the courthouse for a short time. Janet also accompanied for many weddings and countless funerals over the years. She felt so honored to be part of both. Together with Chuck she kept an hour of Perpetual Adoration for 48 years. She was a member of the Ladies Guild, Christian Mothers, and Catholic Daughters of America. Janet loved her garden and raising fresh food for her family. She enjoyed baking, cooking, sewing, and tending to her flowers. One of Janet's greatest joys was supporting her grandchildren in all of their activities. Our sympathy and prayers to Janet's family. I had the privilege of being her nurse a few night shifts while she was in Yankton. I was amazed by her strength and courage that I witnessed those nights. I could barely talk her into taking some Tylenol for the discomfort of the chest tube. She was amazingly strong even though she looked as though she would be weak. I checked on her throughout the night and she never had a complaint. She also was a woman of great faith as her rosary was near by. I am sorry for your loss and know of the struggles you face now with your dad, as the battle continues with our mom and the life snuffing Alzheimer's. It takes the flame out most of the time, but then the flame comes back for a while and it feels so good for the short time it is there and then it goes out again. You are in our prayers, always.
